Shaping a New Classic: The Monroe Basin by Kast and C.P. Hart

An exclusive collaboration between Kast and C.P. Hart brings a new design to life. Monroe reinterprets a classic bathroom silhouette through the sculptural language of handcrafted concrete.

Some collaborations feel almost inevitable. When two brands share the same appreciation for craftsmanship, thoughtful design and carefully considered materials, the result is something truly special. The Monroe basin marks an exciting milestone for Kast. Created in collaboration with C.P. Hart, this is the first time Kast has partnered with another brand to co-create a new basin design.

The project brings together two complementary worlds: C.P. Hart’s long-standing heritage in luxury bathrooms and Kast’s contemporary expertise in handcrafted concrete. The result is Monroe, a basin that celebrates both tradition and innovation.

Inspired by the iconic freestanding silhouette of C.P. Hart’s signature London basin, Monroe reinterprets this classic form through Kast’s distinctive material language. Cast in solid concrete and produced in the UK on the edge of Sherwood Forest, the design balances architectural presence with refined detailing.

A softly framed structure defines the basin’s silhouette, while the fluted exterior introduces rhythm and texture. The design also incorporates a subtle inset shelf for brassware, allowing the composition to feel intentional and balanced within the space. The result is a piece that feels both sculptural and practical, bringing depth and character to the bathroom.

A design shaped by heritage, reimagined through concrete.

Designed for Different Spaces

Flexibility sits at the heart of Monroe’s design. The basin is available in three configurations: wall-mounted, wall-mounted with a pedestal, or paired with a metal console stand. Each offers a different interpretation of the same architectural form.

The wall-mounted version presents a clean, contemporary expression. Paired with a pedestal, the basin becomes a more classical centrepiece, while the metal console stand introduces a lighter, more architectural structure. Each variation allows designers to adapt the basin to different interiors while retaining Monroe’s distinctive presence.

As with all Kast designs, colour plays an important role in shaping the personality of the piece. Monroe is available in Kast’s full palette of 28 finishes, ranging from soft neutrals to deeper, richer tones, including the bold Crimson finish selected as the collection’s signature colour. The natural composition of concrete means subtle tonal variations occur during the casting process, ensuring every basin carries its own unique character.

A Shared Vision

This collaboration represents a meaningful moment for both brands. Bringing together C.P. Hart’s deep understanding of luxury bathroom spaces with Kast’s expertise in material innovation and contemporary form, the project reflects a shared approach to design that is both considered and expressive.

The result is a piece that feels rooted in heritage yet unmistakably modern.

Exclusively available through C.P. Hart, Monroe reflects the shared ambition of both brands to create bathrooms that feel as considered as they are functional.

A meeting of heritage and craft, Monroe celebrates what can happen when two design perspectives come together to shape something new.
