Bathroom Trends: The New Retro
One of the key interior design trends of 2019 has been about looking back to design movements from the 20th century and reinventing them with the taste and sensitivity of a contemporary perspective. This is now being seen more within bathroom designs too; Our latest Kast Canvas collection was influenced by the highly stylised forms of this era and these basins are therefore a great way of incorporating this trend into your bathrooms.

Our Luna basin was recently used as part of the set design by 2LG studio for Original Style's Tile of the Year 2020 campaign which incorporates classic qualities of historical interior décor. The arched flutes of our Luna basin are echoed by the delicate tile pattern and arched recess while the berry colour palette beautifully enhances the retro influences of the basin.

A revitalised appreciation for all things retro is also being seen through the use of bolder, more eclectic colour palettes and material combinations. This bathroom design by Susie Clegg for Mandarin Stone's new tile collections is a great example of this and features our Kern basin in Duck Egg. The muted orange tiles and bold use of terrazzo creates a retro feel while the striking pop of colour from our Duck Egg Kern on a bright yellow vanity keeps it looking fresh and contemporary.
Our Iva basin exudes Art Deco luxury with its curved form and horizontal banding and the option to have it cast in any of our 28 concrete colours helps to create a fresh feel that's also familiar. Curved elements can also add interest and dynamism to compact, boxy spaces as well as creating an instant design statement.
